“ Didn't have food, skip that review. Basically an open air pub, 2 garage doors, modest parking lot next to other parking spaces. On the shady south side of Indian School Road, seemed to stay cool enough to us. Initially overwhelmed at the choices. Green boards are 'on sale,' black boards w/ red chalk are sours. They offer quite a lot. If you can't find something here, maybe go get some spirits. Many cases offering 4oz., 8oz., and 16 oz. beer pours. Plenty of solid traditional offerings and wild-hair collaboration brews. A short list of Meads in 2 & 4 oz. pours. A few more wines as well with a healthy bottle selection section Knowledgeable and polite staff. What is not to like? SO glad we happened by. OK, they have a food truck and another whack of taps on the back patio. Also, a decent selection of canned goods, mostly beer... we didn't check. DEFINITELY someplace we're going to return to. ”
“ My favorite tap room in Phoenix! Lots of open seating, inside and out. Plus, it's dog friendly! No kitchen but they feature different food trucks on the weekends. ”
“ The Wandering Tortoise has really great beer. They have a wide selection of beers that you can choose from. The service is great as well. The art work throughout the establishment looks like the artist was on LSD...... ”
“ I’m convinced that this is the single best growler bar in PHX, and it’s top 5 one of my favorite places to drink beer. The tap list is ALWAYS full of amazing beers, and the service is top notch. Plan to check this place out if you’re traveling, and if you live there and can visit often, I’m a little jealous. ”
“ We had a company happy hour her for about eight people. Good selection of beers at a reasonable price. Lots of local craft beers and good variety of styles. Not sure how food works here because someone else arranged everything. So I didn’t review a menu or anything. But the food we got was good ”
“ A true Phoenix gem. This taproom is far more than its slick appearance. The beer that goes on tap here is not easily found everywhere. That’s a fact. The food made from the kitchen on the back patio is great. All the people that make this place go deserve a huge thank you. Oh insane bonus? Nelson’s next door. Get some seafood when the kitchen isn’t going at wandering. Spoiled for choice on food and beer at this spot. ”
“ Awesome tap list! So many choices from different states. The space is nice and big, which is great. The only thing is that the food is just alright. nothing special. Next time I would probably bring my own food or DoorDash to this place. ”
“ This place is awesome. Hands down best and widest selection, most friendly and helpful staff, and the food station out back makes it a great place to chill until you’re hungry (again). I can’t recommend this spot enough. I’m a huge fan of Superstition Meadery and they have my favorite meads (and a cider) from them pretty consistently. Thanks for accommodating my birthday group and making it a special evening too! ”
